Initial Consultation:
$ 149.00 (90 minutes in length. Session takes place within your home & surrounding neighborhood.) |
|
Generally consultations take place in your home, so that I can observe your dog in his or her usual environment and chat to as many family members as possible. During this time I review the previously completed client/dog questionnaire and continue to acquire as much knowledge as possible about the dog’s daily routines. I will then discuss my observations and advice with you. After the consultation, I will send you an emailed summary and topics to be covered to pave the pathway towards behavior modification.
It must be remembered that a consultation is usually just the first step in resolving a problem behavior and that it is up to you to follow the advice you receive. There are no magic solutions! Behavior modification can be hard work and requires commitment and patience!

Pawsitive Transformation goes to the vet with you!
As a Registered Vet Tech, I can help make your dog’s veterinary hospital visits positive and not as stressful by going with you to the veterinary hospital. I have seen what can happen “behind the closed doors” at some veterinary hospitals—dogs get very nervous with the wobbly scale for weight checks, urinate and defecate due to fear, and become incredibly stressed during the exam. Excessive panting and vocalization, yawning, whites of the eyes showing, drooling, pacing, and/or ears pinned to the head are all signs of stress. This can then lead to not only a traumatic experience, that could have been avoided, but also over restraint, muzzles and sometimes sedation for procedures that wouldn’t necessarily require it.

“…hurrying, hurting, or frightening a young pup or kitten during the course of its first examination at the clinic, usually causes fear and loathing towards veterinarians, which may take months, or years, to resolve in an adult animal. Moreover required restraint quickly exacerbates the problem with each visit.”
